“The Lord GOD has given Me The tongue of the learned, That I should know how to speak A word in season to him who is weary. He awakens Me morning by morning, He awakens My ear To hear as the learned.” (Isaiah 50:4 NKJV)
A word in Season: Christmas Yes I said the word, “Christmas.” Some people may be shocked; some may choke as they try to utter the name of our Lord. Several familiar words of the season, such as, manger scene, baby wrapped in swaddling clothes, or even the place of Bethlehem may be prohibited, but this time of year will always be Christmas to me.
No matter how much the world tries to wipe out “Christmas”, Christ will appear in some of the strangest ways. The rocks will cry out; rivers and streams will call out His name; and yes, creation will stop, if need be, at God’s command.
Salute, stand tall, but most of all shout to the roof tops that Jesus Christ is born, the Savior of this sinful world! He is the gift, offered to the dying world, wrapped in passion, forgiveness and life eternal. Christ, the one you want to hate, provided Heaven for you- to keep you out of Hell; that’s how much He really cares for you.
Christian Know how to speak a word in season to him that is weary. Offer them Jesus. We have been given the greatest opportunity during this time when peoples’ minds are pointed to baby Jesus or the need of a Savior more than any other time.
God has prepared the message, and He has prepared you. "The Lord God hath given me the tongue of the learned." If you have asked Jesus to save you, to take away your sins, and cleanse your life, then you have what they need to know…the tongue of the learned. Be simple, but show them the love of Jesus and why He came to earth that magical night long ago. Tell the world your story. Speak to the world, my friend, as if they were dining with you at your table, during this festive season of Christ’s birth.
